Apple manufactured in the USA - still under consideration

One of the hottest topic around the world these days should be the leak that Apple is trying to move its production to the U.S.A in order to please President Donald Trump. According to Nikkei - a Japanese magazine, Apple is working with its partners to move its firms to America from China. It is obvious that Trump’s amazing win in the national election has put the company under pressure. Trump has repeatedly suggested that Apple move its manufacturing back to the U.S. His most recent comments were made in January at a talk at Liberty University where Trump said, "We're gonna get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country, instead of in other countries."

Nikkei claimed that Apple has asked two of its chief iPhone manufacturers, Foxconn Technology Group and Pegatron, to explore shifting their iPhone production to the U.S. Foxconn reportedly complied, but Pegatron declined due to cost concerns. Foxconn declined to comment on the report. Apple has not responded to a request for comment.

In fact, it is relevantly much more expensive to hire labors in the U.S than in China. As a result, price of iPhones (made in America) would escalate by 50 percent. Moreover, most of Apple’s part suppliers are located in Asia then it takes time and costs a lot of money to deliver from the extremely long distance. In 2013, it made an effort to bring some MacPro hardware production to the US. It invested over $100 million dollars in production, but relocating iPhone manufacturing is an entirely different beast. There would likely be alarge impact on Apple's finances.
